Getting started
- 1. Create a workspace.Sign up and you’ll automatically become its Administrator.
- 2. Invite your family. From Settings → Members, invite relatives by email and assign each a role — see “Roles & access” below for what each one means.
- 3. Turn on what you need. Start with Tasks and Documents, then add Travel, Funeral, Insurance, Medical, or Estate as your situation calls for them.
- 4. Upgrade if it’s useful. Premium is optional and one-time — see the pricing section on the home page for what it includes.
General
What is LegacyHub?+
LegacyHub is a shared workspace for a family coordinating everything that comes up after losing a loved one — tasks, documents, communication, and (depending on your situation) travel, funeral logistics, insurance claims, medical summaries, and estate records. It replaces a scattered mix of texts, emails, and spreadsheets with one place everyone can check.
Who is a "workspace" for?+
One workspace per family or group. Whoever creates it becomes the Administrator and can invite other relatives, each with a role that controls what they can see and do — see the "Roles & access" section below.
Do I need to use every feature?+
No. Turn on only what's relevant — a family not dealing with an estate simply won't use that module. Nothing is forced on you, and unused sections stay out of the way.
Roles & access
What are the different roles?+
Administrator and Family Coordinator can manage the workspace and most records. Legal, Travel, Finance, and Funeral Coordinators get elevated access within their own area. Family Member is the standard role for everyone else — read access to most things, full control over what they personally created. Guest is read-only, for anyone who just needs visibility without editing rights.
Can everyone see medical and estate records?+
No — those two are the most sensitive data in the app, so only Administrators and Family Coordinators can see them at all (not just edit them). Funeral planning is similarly restricted to Administrators, Family Coordinators, and the Funeral Coordinator role.
Can I remove someone's access later?+
Yes, from Settings → Members. Removing someone revokes their access to the workspace immediately.
Billing
Is Premium a subscription?+
No. It's a single one-time charge of $49 per workspace — not a recurring bill. Families typically use LegacyHub intensely for a few months and then taper off, so we didn't think it was fair to keep billing you after that.
What does Premium unlock?+
The AI Assistant, a customizable memorial page link, a full workspace export, expanded storage, and priority email support. Everything else — tasks, documents, family updates, expense tracking, medical/estate/insurance records, travel and funeral planning — is free.
Can I get a refund?+
Reach out to principiumtechnology@gmail.com and we’ll take a look. Since it’s a one-time charge rather than a subscription, there’s nothing to “cancel” — there’s simply nothing further to be billed.
AI Assistant
What can the AI Assistant do?+
It can draft family updates or task descriptions from a few words, summarize recent workspace activity, and suggest next steps. It can only propose creating a task or posting an update — nothing is saved without you explicitly confirming it.
Is there a usage limit?+
Yes, a monthly cap per workspace to keep things sustainable. You'll see a usage indicator on the Assistant page showing how much you've used that month.
Should I trust everything it writes?+
Treat it as a drafting aid, not a source of truth — review anything it writes before sharing it, the same way you'd proofread a draft from any assistant.
Privacy & security
Is my family's data private?+
Yes. Everything in a workspace is only visible to people you've invited into it, subject to their role's access level. See our Privacy Policy for exactly which third-party services (hosting, email, payments, AI) process data on our behalf and why.
What happens if I delete my workspace?+
Your data is retained briefly to allow for export, then deleted — see the Privacy Policy for specifics. We recommend exporting anything irreplaceable first (Premium includes a full export; ask support if you're on the free tier and need one).
Memorial page
Is the memorial page public?+
It's optional and off by default. If you turn it on, it's reachable by anyone with the link (not indexed for private browsing by default), with a soft "enter your email" gate before viewing — that's a lead-capture step for the family, not a real access restriction, so don't rely on it to keep the page fully private.
Can anyone post to the guestbook?+
Anyone with the link can submit a guestbook entry, but nothing appears publicly until a workspace Administrator or Family Coordinator approves it.
International use
Can my family use LegacyHub if we're spread across different countries?+
Yes — this is a core scenario LegacyHub is built around, not an afterthought. Everyone signs into the same workspace regardless of where they are, so a relative abroad sees exactly the same tasks, documents, and updates as someone at home. Travel Planning specifically tracks flights, lodging, and passport/visa status per traveler, since it's common for people to be flying in from multiple countries for the same loss.
What currencies are supported?+
Expense tracking accepts any 3-letter ISO currency code (USD, GBP, EUR, NGN, JPY, INR — whatever you actually paid in), each tracked and budgeted independently with no forced conversion to a single currency. Premium has a fixed one-time price in six currencies — USD, GBP, EUR, CHF, CAD, and NGN — you pick whichever matches how your family pays.
Why doesn't LegacyHub convert everything into one currency automatically?+
Live currency conversion drifts day to day, which would make a shared budget confusing to look back on — was that expense actually over budget, or did the exchange rate just move? Keeping each currency separate means the numbers you see are exactly what was paid, not a recalculated estimate.
Will dates and numbers display in my local format?+
Yes, automatically. Dates and amounts are formatted based on your own device's locale, so the same shared expense or due date displays the way you're used to reading it — no setting to configure.
Is there a way to find local funeral homes, attorneys, or other providers near me?+
Right now the Provider directory is family-maintained — you add the businesses you're already considering, and everyone in the workspace can see the shared list. A live "search near my location" feature is on our list for a future update; we held it back at launch because the services that offer that kind of search (Google, Yelp, and similar) have very uneven coverage outside a handful of countries, and we'd rather ship it well than ship it inconsistently.
